[SIDE CHARACTER POPULARITY SYSTEM SUCCESSFULLY BOUND.]
“Hm?”
“Jujutsu sorcerers these days really have no manners.”
Walking down the street with his close friend Geto Suguru, Gojo Satoru tipped his head back to take a sip of his drink, then shook his head in resignation.
“To think it actually called me, of all people, a side character. Ahaha~”
“What’s wrong, Satoru?”
Geto looked at Gojo in confusion.
“Nothing.”
“Just some young jujutsu sorcerer who doesn’t know his place trying some weird cursed technique on me.”
Gojo waved it off without a care.
“It actually said I’m a side character.”

“Oh? There’s more?”
Gojo raised an eyebrow. “Then let’s give it a try. Let’s see what new tricks you’ve got~”
“If it isn’t fun, I’ll spank you, okay? And one more thing. If you call me a side character again… I might actually get a little mad.”

[SIDE CHARACTER POPULARITY SYSTEM SUCCESSFULLY BOUND!]
Pale blue text abruptly hovered in the center of his vision, like a phantom image projected by someone’s cursed technique, with a cheap, electronic feel.
Gojo Satoru blinked behind his black sunglasses, a flicker of interest passing through his eyes.
“Tch.”
He clicked his tongue with a teenager’s particular carelessness.
Gojo shook the iced drink in his hand. The orange liquid traced a shallow arc along the wall of the clear plastic cup, and cold condensation slid down its surface, dampening his pale fingertips.
“Jujutsu sorcerers these days really have no manners.”
He drew out his words as if he were talking about something amusing.
“Huh?”
Geto Suguru, walking half a step ahead with his back slightly hunched, stopped at the sound and slowly turned his head.
His long black hair rested over his shoulders, the loose strands at his forehead glinting faintly in the sun. His eyes were full of confusion as he looked back at Gojo. “What are you suddenly rambling about?”
Gojo tilted his head back and took a long pull from the straw of his iced drink. The sound of him drinking was especially clear on the quiet street.
The cold sweetness slid down his throat, driving away a little of the afternoon heat.
At Geto’s question, he drained the rest of the drink in one go. With a slight squeeze of his fingers, the empty plastic cup crumpled with a sharp CRUNCH.
A casual flick of his wrist sent the flattened cup flying out with a faint whistle through the air. It crossed more than a dozen meters with perfect accuracy and landed deep inside a roadside trash can with a CLANG.
“It’s nothing.” Gojo waved a hand at Geto, his palm drawing an easy arc through the air. His tone remained careless. “Just some guy who doesn’t know his place trying some weird cursed technique on me.”
He tilted his head slightly, and for once, a trace of genuine displeasure entered his voice. “And he actually called me something like a side character. Honestly, that’s kind of annoying.”
Cursed technique? Side character?
Geto frowned and scratched the back of his head, an odd expression crossing his face.
Someone dared to make a move on Gojo Satoru? That guy’s head probably wasn’t screwed on right.
“Then he really picked the wrong opponent.”
Geto shrugged, his tone carrying unconcealed trust.
He knew Gojo’s strength all too well. Forget some unknown cursed technique—even if a special grade cursed spirit came knocking, the one who ended up suffering would only be the other side.
After saying that, he could not be bothered to pay any more attention to such a strange little matter. He turned back around and, hunched as before, continued toward the dessert shop ahead. After all, the whole reason they had come out today was to accompany Gojo in buying a limited-edition strawberry cake.
As for Gojo, he could worry about anyone else before he worried about that guy.
“Let’s see what gave you the courage to use me as a test subject.”
He was not exactly angry. If anything, he was more intrigued than before. After all, as he grew stronger and stronger, fewer and fewer things were capable of interesting him.
But just as he was about to take this a little more seriously and find whoever was hiding behind this for a proper “education,” the pale blue text before his eyes changed again, new lines appearing one after another.
[WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRAVEL TO THE FIRST WORLD AND BEGIN THE MISSION?]

“Hm?” Gojo raised an eyebrow, his hand, which had been hanging casually at his side, pausing for a moment. “Travel worlds?”
He took two steps forward to where Geto had just been standing. His gaze swept over the shops lining both sides of the street, and his voice held a lazy sort of amusement. “Sounds pretty nice, but why does it feel like false advertising from a TV commercial?”
His fingers brushed through the white hair beside his ear, soft and smooth to the touch. Gojo stretched hugely, his bones giving a faint click, his whole body loose with the air of someone who had not fully woken up. “Well, whatever.”
“I’ll know once I try it.”
He tilted his head. Behind the lenses, the Six Eyes gleamed with interest, and his voice carried a teasing threat. “I hope you don’t disappoint me. Otherwise, I’ll spank you, okay~?”
As soon as he finished speaking, the pale blue text in front of him flashed violently a few times, as if responding to his words.

…
[TRANSFER SUCCESSFUL.]
The text before his eyes flickered.
When he finished reading and shifted his gaze away from the words “TRANSFER SUCCESSFUL,” he suddenly realized that everything around him had changed.
Gojo stood in a completely unfamiliar street in something of a daze. Around him were European-style buildings he had never seen before, and lively conversation filled his ears.
In a single instant, everything had changed.
“Oh?”
Faced with such an abrupt and astonishing change, Gojo recovered almost immediately.
He looked at his surroundings, then at the figures coming and going along the street, and reached up to push his sunglasses higher on the bridge of his nose.
“The details of this illusion are pretty well done.”
Gojo casually picked up a pebble from the ground and played with it between his fingers.
The sensation against his fingertips was terrifyingly real.
He dropped it, then lightly crushed it beneath the toe of his shoe. A crisp sound traveled up through the sole.
“It can even simulate touch and sound this realistically. Now this really is an interesting cursed technique.”
“And one with a pretty distinctive fantasy-world style, too.”
Gojo looked at the crowds moving along the street not far away. Among the passersby, aside from humans, he even saw quite a few strange-looking beings—beastman-like Demi-Humans out of a fantasy novel.
Beyond that, many carriage-like vehicles were traveling along the road. They were not pulled by horses, but by lizard-like creatures roughly the same size.
Everything looked so fresh and novel.
Gojo, who had originally planned to deal with this so-called cursed technique offhandedly, now found his interest growing considerably.
“If it’s an illusion, there’s no way it can cover every detail, right?”
Gojo flexed his wrist, preparing to take a proper stroll through this peculiar illusion.
Like a tourist, he was filled with the desire to explore everything around him.
Soon enough, he spotted something by the roadside that looked somewhat familiar.
It was a fruit stall at the side of the road. If he was not mistaken, the things displayed there were unmistakably apples.
“There are apples even in another world like this? That’s a little sloppy, isn’t it?”
