Chapter 1

Cyberpunk: REDLINE [1] (NO SYNOPSIS YET)

I’m gonna be the next Adam Smasher!

I’ll be better than that scrub David—he doesn’t even deserve Lucy!

I can see it now… me at the top of the world with countless beauties on each arm!

That’s right. The name Honda Natsuba will be feared, respected, and lusted throughout this world!

SO WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?!

“やめ—S̷T̸O̷P̴! DON’T MOVE!”
“兄貴—A̸N̷I̸K̷I̷! WE’RE GETTING CUT UP!”
“鉄—U̷S̷E̷ YOUR IRON, OMAE!”

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Honda Natsuba was hiding inside a metal locker.

It was cramped. Hot. The air tasted like sweat and old detergent. His knees were jammed into his chest, his stomach was jammed into everything, and every breath felt like he was inhaling the inside of a tin can.

But it was better than being out there.

He didn’t want to die again.

In his past life, he’d been a misunderstood alpha—
(translation: a creep who stalked girls and tried to blackmail them.)

All the betas were jealous of him, so they ganged up and bullied him!
(translation: he got expelled when faculty found out.)

But that was fine! It just meant he could get a real education!

He enrolled in Hustler’s University. Only $99 a month.
With his idol Andrew Tate teaching him, he was on his way to becoming the ultimate man—!

Until he was murdered.
By poison.
In his chicken nuggets.
(translation: he choked.)

But that wasn’t where his story ended!

He transmigrated into the world of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners—a setting he only knew because of his waifu, Lucy. He had nothing, wandered Night City like an NPC with no quest marker, until a gang finally saw his potential.

They even had a SUGOI name.

Tyger Claws!

So here he was, grinding his training arc in an underground dojo like Batman with the Tibetan monks—except instead of wisdom and inner peace, he got bruises and a cool translator implant that let him understand the best language ever.

Japanese.

This was the beginning of his rise. The year 207—

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Right. He had to survive first.

It’s fine. This was character development. This was the part where he reveals he isn’t a random goon and—

Honda shoved the locker door open.

Then immediately remembered two things:

  1. The locker was built for normal human beings.

  2. Honda Natsuba was not currently shaped like a normal human being.

He wedged. He twisted. He sucked in his stomach so hard his soul nearly exited his body. The metal bit into his shoulders. The locker rattled like it wanted to throw him up.

With one final heroic heave, he popped free—and fell out like a sack of laundry.

Thud.

“…Okay,” Honda wheezed, cheeks burning. “Okay. Tactical repositioning complete.”

Now he should gather information.

“どこ行った—W̷H̸E̷R̷E̴ DID HE GO?! WHERE IS HE?!”
“くそ—K̸U̷S̴O̷! HE TOOK OUT RYUJI!”
“このクソてめ—”

BANG!

The last voice cut off like someone had simply pressed mute on a human being.

Honda flinched so hard his spine tried to leave his body.

It’s okay. It’s okay. I’m the main character. I can do this. I can do this—

CRASH!

A body slammed through the paper wall and hit the floor right in front of him.

Honda’s scream died in his throat so violently it almost took his lungs with it.

It was Akaze—one of the dojo guys. He was the one who picked him up from the streets. The one who Honda considered as his “sensei”.

Isn’t it too early for the sensei’s death…?

Akaze lay twisted at the wrong angle, the gun he was holding clattered at Honda’s feet. Blood soaked the front of his jacket in a spreading, icky black-red—t-there was too much of it. A bullet hole had punched clean through his upper chest; another on the side of his neck, leaving a wet spray across the tatami.

His eyes were open.

Honda’s mouth was open, gaping like a fish.

A thin, trembling sound escaped him anyway—somewhere between a cough and a prayer.

Then Honda looked through the ragged hole in the paper wall.

And saw the culprit.

For half a second his brain tried to label it like a videogame UI.

BOSS LV. 💀

The figure moved down the corridor like he was aura farming.

Black gear—was he cosplaying Batman or something? He’s so different from the Tyger Claws, there was no neon or any tattoos on display. A rifle was on his back, and a pistol sat in his hand, probably what he’d used to kill Akaze…

His face was hidden behind a mask, but… his eyes—

Honda could feel them.

Even through the mask, even through the torn paper wall and the smoke and the ringing in his ears, those eyes landed on him like a scanner.

Like he wasn’t a person.

Like he was meat.

Like he was a pig waiting for slaughter.

It doesn’t matter.

I, Honda Natsuba, am the main character. I can do this.

I can do this!

SO WHY CAN’T I MOVE?!
LEGS! MOVE!

His whole body was frozen. He felt like a passenger in his own body, unable to intervene in what was probably his final moment.

The man in black stepped through the hole in the paper wall.

Up close, Honda realized the man was taller than him. HIM! He was already a 6ft alpha, how is this man taller than him?

Honda tried to speak but no sound came out.

The man’s pistol rose and the muzzle stopped inches away.

Honda stared into the dark circle like it was the end of the world.

SOMEONE SAVE ME!!! I CAN’T DIE HERE!!!

Before the man could pull the trigger, he froze. His shoulders suddenly hitched, staggering back a step, then another, one hand snapping up to clutch his head.

“Huh…?”

Is this my chance?

Honda didn’t think. He just moved.

Ignoring the wet warmth soaking his pants—and the humiliating puddle spreading beneath him—he lunged for the pistol Akaze had dropped when he came crashing through the wall.

What had to be seconds felt like entire minutes. His fingers slipped once, slick against the grip, and his stomach tried to crawl up his throat.

Finally—he got it.

The gun was damp. Honda didn’t want to think more about it. He swallowed the disgust and lifted it anyway, both hands shaking as he aimed at the man in black.

The intruder was down on one knee now, breathing hard, head bowed like he was waiting for the main character to finish him off.

It must’ve been fate.

I really am the main character!

YES, THIS IS MY STOR—

Honda’s thought cut off when something hard and cold jammed up under his jaw.

Wait wha—

BANG!

oh and i did the weird glitchy thing because, that’s how it’s like in cyberpunk when translating! it would have the original language then it would be like glitching or calculating then your subtitles get replaced with the english so you can understand!

anyways if you have any criticisms or have ideas on how i can write better let me know
